Father's Day | Aberdeen, SD Photographer

What do you get the man that has everything? And in my case, the man who has a birthday and an anniversary both a few weeks before father's day! This is what I've decided to do (and you can too)! Jason needs some photos of Cole for work. I've been told this by countless people that I've met and work with Jason. But Jason is very picky. He doesn't want Cole wearing cute clothes:

He doesn't want the cute, smile at the camera pose:

He wants Cole, for who he is and what he does. And while I can take a shot with any old camera, I want a portrait. Something that when people see it, they see the beauty (or devilish side) of my little guy shining through. Not bad lighting or crazy clothing or the junk that sits around our house. So this is my plan (and it can be yours too!): Cole and I headed to the golf course (Jason's favorite place this time of year). And while CJP did wear an outfit I think looks nice, it was something that is real to him (GO TIGERS and kahkis). We ran, had fun, and watched him put the ball in the cup (or try to put the tee marker in the cup)! Then I went home and gathered the photos that reflect Cole's personality. I chose the best, made them match, then got them printed on a large desk print (10x20). And viola - home made dad's day gift that will bring Jason joy whenever he looks up from his desk. Oh, and Grandpa P will be getting one too! 2 gifts done in one 30 minute fun session! Do you have a dad in your life that could use an instant pick-me-up throughout the day? Contact me - we'll brainstorm ideas, find the perfect location, and get the right amount of sass in those photos!

A fun collage | Aberdeen, SD Photographer

Wondering what you get when you do a family shoot? Well - here is a preview of some of the images from my last family of 4. We did hit quite a few different locations and many of these would be considered 'out takes' but I think this is what makes the day. This is why I love what I do and why I spend the wee hours of the morning making sure your photos are perfect! I smiled the whole way through editing these photos. I promised mom that I would do some collages - not just for them, but so that you can see what you get when we do a family shoot. Collages are a great way to get a lot of fun photos in one spot. They are mounted, ready to go! And we can customize them however you want, different back grounds to match the room and the photos you want. I've also included a photo of one of the collages I did for a family earlier this month.
Please don't mind the terrible product photography and CJP's chubby little hand in there (you can tell which one he liked)!

The Perfect Mother's day gift!!

Don't tell CJP's Grandma's - but here is what they are getting for Mother's Day! I'm pretty sure I'll be making more of these for me and Jason to carry around too! They are accordion mini albums. They come in 3x3 or 2.5x3.5. They feature either a custom photo cover or color fabric colors. I will be custom designing these albums to fit the photos that are in them. This is a design that I got online and customized it to be masculine! You can fit up to 10 photos, plus one on the front and one on the back. The next two clients to book a session with me will get a FREE accordion mini (session fee due at the time of booking)!

Tate's Collage

One of my favorite things to do after a shoot is to complete collages. Sometimes it's just too hard to pick out one picture - so a collage makes perfect sense. I also like how they can tell a story (I'm a scrapbooker at heart:).

Sarah's Collages

Sarah's custom made invites. She got to pick the colors and told me what she likes (not TRADITIONAL) and this is the one she chose!

'Masculine' V-day Cards

I made these for CJ to send out. These are some more photos from our Valentine's day shoot as well.

Valentine's Day Cards

These are some of my custom designed cards. I try to pull the colors straight from the photos. I really enjoy making these, but with these cuties, it's hard not to have a lot of fun!
